Patient and Family Wellbeing
At Rotherham Hospice
PATIENT AND FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES
Looking after the psychosocial wellbeing of patients and their family members is an important part of our care. We are ever mindful of the emotional turmoil that families undergo during and after the illness and death of a loved one, and of how important it is to talk through worries and be supported through a sensitive and very difficult time.
Rotherham Hospice supports patients, their families, and significant others in a variety of ways. Our services include Bereavement Support, Counselling, Social Work, Carer and Family Support, Children’s Bereavement Support (Sunbeams), and Chaplaincy Services.
We are respectful of all beliefs, religions, and cultures and tailor your care accordingly. We have a Quiet Room available to you and your visitors. All our support is offered in a quiet and confidential space, and free of charge.

Good Grief Café
f you’ve lost someone close and they were cared for by Rotherham Hospice, you’re warmly invited to join us at our Good Grief Café.
This is a relaxed, friendly space where you can come for a cuppa, have a natter, and meet others who understand what you’re going through. Whether you’d like to chat or just sit quietly with others who get it, you’ll be met with kindness and understanding.
You’ll be greeted by someone from our bereavement team when you arrive. If you’d prefer a one-to-one conversation first, just let us know — we’re here to support you in whatever way feels right.
The café is held in the hospice conservatory from 2–4pm, on the last Monday or Friday of each month. You don’t have to book, but if you’d like to let us know you’re coming, just call reception on 01709 966000 and ask for the counselling and bereavement team.
How can you help?
There are many ways you can support us, whether it be through holding an event, playing in our lottery, volunteering, or donating!
