Visiting the Hospice
At Rotherham Hospice
Visiting Hours
There are no set visiting hours at Rotherham Hospice — your loved ones can visit any time, day or night. We know how much these moments matter, and we want you to spend them together whenever feels right for you.
Getting in
Our main reception is open from 8am to 8pm every day, where you’ll be greeted with a friendly welcome and pointed in the right direction. Outside these hours, simply use the door to the right of the main entrance (there’s a sign by the main door to guide you) and press the buzzer — our nursing team will let you in. We ask all visitors to sign in on arrival and sign out when leaving, so we always know who’s in the building.
Staying close
If you’d like to stay overnight, just ask — we have limited sleeping accommodation for family members, and we’ll always do our best to help you stay by your loved one’s side.
Many families have been caring for their loved one at home, and if you’d like to stay involved in their care here, we warmly encourage it — though there’s no obligation at all. We’ll chat about what feels right for you both when your loved one is admitted.
And if you’re planning something special — a celebration, an anniversary, or precious time together in someone’s final days — speak to any member of our team. We’ll do everything we can to make it happen.
Where to find us

Please park in the patients and family bays in the hospice car park.
Making your visit comfortable
Our family room offers a quiet space to rest, read or have a private conversation. Our café serves tea, coffee and snacks, along with homemade breakfast, lunch and dinner. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hospice (just ask a member of staff for the login), and there’s free on-site parking for visitors.
We're here for you too
Visiting someone in a hospice can bring up all kinds of emotions. If you need someone to talk to, our counsellors and spiritual care team are here for you as well — just ask.
How can you help?
