Inpatient unit
At Rotherham Hospice
Compassionate, Personalised Care 24/7
Our purpose-built, 14-bed Inpatient Unit is a place of warmth and comfort, where expert care is available around the clock. Every one of our 14 private rooms features ensuite facilities, thoughtfully designed to feel more like a home than a hospital. Here, the focus is always on the person, not just their illness.
As an independent charity, our services are provided completely free of charge to patients and their families. While we receive some funding support, we rely heavily on the generosity of our community to continue offering this vital care.
For many of our patients, their stay with us is temporary—a chance to get their pain under control and symptoms managed before returning home. For others, especially those who can no longer be cared for at home or wish to return to the hospice in their final days, our Inpatient Unit offers a safe, welcoming space where they can receive the compassionate care they need.
Our team is here not just to address physical needs, but to support the emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of both patients and their loved ones. Whether it’s helping to manage complex symptoms, providing a listening ear, or offering guidance on what to expect, our staff are committed to ensuring every patient and family member feels supported.
We work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless, personalised care, and when needed, we can connect patients to additional services within the hospice, community, or hospital. At Rotherham Hospice, it’s about making every moment as meaningful and comfortable as possible, for both patients and their families.
