Visiting Information
It is Rotherham Hospice’s aim to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all patients, staff, and visitors at all times. With the presence of Covid-19 in our community, we have implemented visiting restrictions and safety measures. Please read Rotherham Hospice Visitor Guidance & Information outlined below:
- Visiting times: 12pm – 2pm and 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
- Only 2 named visitors per patient will be allowed on-site each visiting slot
- The two visitors must attend at the same time, within the allocated visiting time. Patients can have up to 6 designated visitors but a maximum of 4 can visit each day.
End of life care (EOLC) Patients
- The patient may have 6 named visitors. Time is unrestricted. But only two of these named visitors are allowed in the patient’s room at any one time, this is to facilitate social distancing and keep staff, visitors, and patients safe.
- The visitors must liaise with one another to arrange when they are going to visit, this is to ensure that no more than two of them are on-site at the same time.
All Visitors
Please note that If we do not have your name on the visitor list you will not be allowed access to the building. Please speak with the nursing team who will be able to make a record of the time and names of those who intend to visit
We appreciate this is a difficult time for you, but we must make you aware that it is at your own risk that you visit your loved one. There may be times when we are caring for Covid positive patients within the unit, we would like to assure you that we will act appropriately to ensure all our patients are cared for safely and we are adhering to all national and regional guidance.
Safety Measures in Place:
All visitors to the Hospice will be asked a series of screening questions and will be required to provide evidence they have completed a covid 19 Lateral flow test (LFT) prior to visiting. Kits and instructions will be provided by the Hospice if it is identified that either you or a member of your household has a positive test or symptoms of Covid-19 you will not be permitted entry to the building.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- You must register your lateral flow test on https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result
- To do this you will need Rotherham Hospices Unique organisation number UON which you will be given on your first visit along with the test kits required
- Once you have submitted the result you will receive a text message to confirm your result.
- You will be required to show the negative result message to the receptionist when you arrive at the Hospice. ( please do not bring the test kit to the Hospice)
On entering the Hospice, you will sanitise your hands with the gel you will then apply personal protective equipment (PPE) which must be worn, the hospice will supply you with this.
On arrival into your loved one’s room, you will wash your hands (if you have not been given gloves) and you are asked to remain socially distanced from Staff during your visit.
If you are visiting a patient in the green team you may be asked to remain in the bedroom for the duration of the visit (unless you are asked by a member of staff to leave, they will direct you to an area where you can wait) should they need to attend to your loved one). This will only be the case if there is a Covid positive patient in the area. Before leaving the room to go home visitors should remove all PPE except the mask, wash their hands, and then leave the Hospice.
Visitors visiting non-Covid positive patients are welcome to use the Café if they wish.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
