Christmas is a season of wishes
For families living with terminal illness, those wishes are often beautifully simple — to feel safe, loved, and surrounded by the people who matter most. By taking part in Light up a Life and dedicating a star in memory of someone dearly missed this Christmas, you’ll help Rotherham Hospice make those wishes come true.
With every donation of £10 or more, you’ll receive
- A stainless steel engraved star ornament with space for your personal dedication (up to 50 characters)
- A Christmas card from the team at Rotherham Hospice
- Your loved one’s dedication included in the Rotherham Advertiser and our digital book of remembrance*
- An invitation to our Light Up a Life service
Your star & where it shines
Once you’ve made your dedication, the amazing team at Pryor Marking Technology will engrave a stainless steel star ornament crafted by MTL Advanced apprentices. We will then send your star out to you so you can either place it on your tree at home or bring it into the hospice to display the hospice tree, alongside stars dedicated by other families.
If you elect to bring it to the Hospice, after Christmas, your star will be returned to you to become part of your festive traditions. If you can’t make it to the Hospice but would like us to place your engraved star on the hospice tree before sending it on, just let us know.
