Great North Swim

for Rotherham Hospice

Make a splash. Make a difference.

Imagine swimming a mile through the stunning waters of Lake Windermere, surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Lake District — and knowing every stroke is helping people in Rotherham receive the care they deserve.

We have a limited number of free places available in the Coventry Building Society Great North Swim, taking place on Friday 12 June 2026 at Brockhole on Windermere. We’d love you to swim for us.

About the event

The Great North Swim is the UK’s biggest open water swimming event, set against the stunning backdrop of England’s largest natural lake. It’s part swim challenge, part weekend celebration — with a festival atmosphere, local food and drink, and thousands of like-minded people all taking on something brilliant together.

Our places are for the 1 Mile distance — suitable for swimmers of all abilities, equivalent to around 64 lengths of a standard 25m pool, with an average completion time of 40 minutes. You’ll be fully supported throughout, with water safety teams, kayakers and lifeguards on the water so you can focus on enjoying every moment.

Our free places

We’re covering the cost of your entry — all we ask in return is that you raise a minimum of £200 for Rotherham Hospice.

Every pound you raise goes towards supporting patients and families in our community who need specialist palliative care. Your swim really does make a difference.

We have just 10 places available, so don’t hang about!
