All feathers now dedicated

Every feather in our Meadow of Memories has now been dedicated in honour of a loved one. This beautiful installation — made up of hundreds of handcrafted steel feathers by the apprentices at MTL Advanced — is now taking shape in the gardens of Wentworth Woodhouse as a peaceful and powerful space of remembrance.

Although all feathers have now been claimed, you can sign up to be the first to know about Meadow of Memories 2026. We’d love to keep you updated as we begin planning the next chapter of this special tribute.

Looking for another way to remember someone special? You might like to explore our Memory Trees at the hospice, where engraved leaves offer a lasting and meaningful way to honour a loved one. To find out more, call us on 01709 966 000.

About the installation

From Saturday 9th to Saturday 23rd August 2025 (closed Mondays), the meadow in the gardens of Wentworth Woodhouse will be transformed into a breathtaking display of remembrance.

Open from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday, the Feather Appeal installation features hundreds of handcrafted steel feathers, each one lovingly dedicated in memory of someone loved and missed.

Although all feathers have now been sold, you are still warmly invited to visit the installation and experience this powerful and peaceful tribute in person.

At the end of the installation, those who made a dedication will be able to collect their engraved feather from Rotherham Hospice or receive it by post, depending on their chosen option.

Day Tickets for additional visitors to the installation are to be booked directly through Wentworth Woodhouse for operational purposes. Income from the tickets will be split between Wentworth Woodhouse and Rotherham Hospice, benefiting both registered charities and ensuring both local organisations can continue to deliver worthwhile services for people in our area.

Each feather in the installation has been carefully crafted from stainless steel, designed to be both beautiful and enduring. Every feather carries its own story — a tribute to a loved one’s memory, a symbol of love, loss, and hope.

When you dedicate a feather, you’ll also receive a personalised engraved tag, allowing you to add the name of your choice. During the installation, you can place your tag on a feather of your choosing, creating a deeply personal moment of remembrance.

Once the display has come to a close, your feather and tag are yours to take home — to treasure in your garden, display indoors, or keep close in your own way, as a lasting tribute.

Every feather dedicated helps Rotherham Hospice provide expert, compassionate care to local people living with a terminal illness — and vital support for their families too.

Your donation helps us add more life to every day, bringing comfort, dignity, and hope when it matters most.
