The Taylor family's year of fundraising
Patient and Family Stories
A local family know first-hand the difference Rotherham Hospice can make when a loved one needs end-of-life care. Siblings Bri, Charlotte and Daisy lost their beloved mother Lesley in January 2022.
Charlotte explains, “In December 2021 our mum, ma, momma was taken into Rotherham Hospice. The team there, from Gill on reception to Simone who cared for her, everyone involved looked after her with such care and kindness.”
Bri, Charlotte, Daisy and their friends and family are completing a year of fundraising for Rotherham Hospice. From jumping out of planes to running miles, Lesley’s family and friends are going above and beyond fundraising for the Hospice.
Bri McCarron from Rotherham and Christina Mower, who lives in Newark, took part in the tandem skydive to raise money for Rotherham Hospice.
Christina, a teacher, originally from Rotherham, is a lifelong friend of Lesley’s daughter Charlotte and wanted to do something to help to raise money for the Hospice after hearing how kind everyone was to Lesley and her family. She signed up for the skydive and Bri joined her to give moral support.
Bri then took part in a half marathon along with his cousin David in February, adding to the fundraising total.
Charlotte also took part in Rotherham Hospice’s Fire Walk in November 2022, growing their mother’s tribute funds further still!
Everyone from Rotherham Hospice would like to thank Bri, Charlotte, Daisy and Christina for their amazing fundraising in memory of Lesley Taylor. Rotherham Hospice relies on the generosity of our wonderful community to raise the £3 million we need each year, and we can only continue giving our care because of your brilliant support.
Their fundraising efforts this weekend have now seen the total raised to over £5000!
