The sky's the limit for Lisa!

“I’ll give anything a go. I’ll jump out of anything!” 

What would you do for Rotherham Hospice? Our Rotherham Hospice shop manager Lisa Evison goes above and beyond to help raise money year after year. Not only does she help run one of our charity shops, but she will be embarking on her next fundraising event very soon, joining our brave fundraisers taking to the skies in our Wing Walk event.  

“I spoke to a lot of people when I first started working for Rotherham Hospice and they didn’t know anything about the Hospice,“ Lisa says when asked why she’s taking part in the event. “I can raise awareness by doing something like this.” 

Seven courageous fundraisers will be taking to the skies on July 22^nd, spending 10 minutes strapped to the top of a vintage airplane. This is the first Wing Walk organised by the Hospice and it has been a popular event! We can’t wait to see Lisa and the others soaring high on Friday.   

Lisa has worked for the Hospice for five years, celebrating her four-year anniversary working at the Wath Rotherham Hospice Shop recently. She says a big part of her fundraising comes from the local community who support the shop; “People take an interest in Wath. It’s a lovely community spirit and they’ve all been really good at sponsoring me.” 

Not only does Lisa take part in the events run by the Hospice, completing a sky dive last year and raising £1,600, but she also helps run fundraising events in the Wath shop, bringing more and more supporters to the Hospice every time!

And Lisa’s already thinking about how she can help raise money next: 

“I’d like to swim with sharks!”
