Emma's Event Volunteering Story
“I had the best time, and it was so great to be involved.
Not having a personal connection to the Hospice, and being a corporate supporter, I was wary that people would wonder why I was there, but everyone was so welcoming.
It really hits home to see how many people Rotherham Hospice help, and to see everyone so upbeat was joyous and incredible. The Rotherham Hospice team were so energetic, keeping everyone going, it was just incredible.
It’s my catchphrase for the night “incredible and a must do”, I’ve tried to encourage as many people at my workplace to get involved with whatever you need help with because the work you all do is like no other.”
Dave's Event Volunteering Story
“I was desperately trying to be fit enough to do the actual walk but to be honest I got a bigger buzz out of being able to cheer the walkers on and have the responsibility to make sure they got water if needed.
The main plus of the night was meeting the marshall point volunteer who I was partnered up with, listening what the Hospice did for his Wife was incredible, and I got to share the Midnight Walk experience with him when he was still grieving so hopefully, I helped get him through the night”
