Glow with the Flow 2017
19th July 2017
The time was 10pm, the route was 10km, and the reason was our 10th Anniversary memory night walk, and what a fantastic and successful night Glow with the Flow 2017 was!
Beginning at Wickersley School, over 630 walkers had their faces painted in neon paints, donned neon t-shirts, and completed the Glow with the Flow look with neon headbands. It was here that they had their photos taken at the Photo Station, performed a pre-walk warm up, and enjoyed Rother FM.
The route took them from the starting point, to the Hospice and our Moment to Reflect Point. It was at this Point that lanterns filled with messages and memories to loved ones touched everyone's hearts & reminded everyone from staff to volunteers and walkers, why it is we do what we do. From here walkers headed back to the finish line, and completed the walk in fantastic times.
Our incredible volunteers lined the route, ensuring everyone's safety and enjoyment, from the moment the first walker arrived to sign in, to the moment the final walker headed home.
Rotherham Hospice Event Manager Samantha Wood said: "The event was a huge success with over 600 people taking part in the walk, the biggest we have had for some years. To see so many people supporting Rotherham Hospice made us Glow with pride and I was extremely touched to see the heartfelt messages that appeared on the lanterns at the 'Moment to Reflect' point. To know how much the event means to our supporters makes everything worth while."
We thank everyone for taking part in Glow with the Flow and your continuing support for the Hospice. We can't wait to see you all at Glow with the Flow 2018!
