What does the Inpatient Unit do?
Our Inpatient Unit has fourteen single rooms with en-suite facilities. For our patients who have limited mobility, we have a specially equipped bathroom where they can enjoy a relaxing bath and a shower wet room.
Our Inpatient Unit allows patients living with a life threatening illness to receive holistic care within a specialist palliative care setting where focus is place on the patient, not the illness.
For some of pur patients, a visit to the Inpatient Unit is for a brief period while we monitor pain and control symptoms before they return home. For others, the stay may be longer.
We are able to offer limited respite breaks allowing a much needed break for carers, friends and family.
For some of our patients, it is no longer possible for them to be cared for in their own homes as they reach the end of their lives; others want to return to the Hospice in their final days. We offer care and support to our patients as well as their family, friends and carers during this period.
The Inpatient Unit allows our patients to receive treatment in their own area, remaining close to their friends and family.
