Bereavement Support Service

What does bereavement support do?

When someone close to us dies, most of us need someone to talk to. We often get that from our friends and family, but sometimes we need to speak to someone who isn’t grieving themselves, who is independent, and can listen to us calmly.

Who will I meet at bereavement support?

Over the years The Rotherham Hospice has built a bank of skilled bereavement support volunteers who can help you if and when you need them. Our volunteers have received training and supervision and can help you understand your grief and all the different emotions you are experiencing.

Where do I go for bereavement support?

You can meet with the bereavement support worker either in the hospice or in your own home. We will arrange the meetings at a time that is convenient for you.
