Charity Shops

The Rotherham Hospice currently has four shops in the Borough: two located in Wath-upon-Dearne, one of which is a dedicated furniture store, one at Herringthorpe near the Hospice and one in Maltby. Our charity shops offer an ever-changing range of clothing and accessories together with books, toys, CD’s, DVD’s, bric-a-brac, and more to tempt shoppers.

Hard-working teams of Hospice staff and volunteers do their utmost to ensure you receive a warm welcome, whether you’re looking for retro items, fancy dress wear, good-as-new branded, or simply a treat at a bargain price.

It’s thanks to the generosity of your donations that we can continue to support of our patients and their families. The higher the quality and the more interesting the items that you drop off, the more funds can be raised to add quality to life when life can’t be added. Shortly, we shall be adding more shops in the months to come to make donating easier for many of you.

Volunteers

We are able to achieve all of this with the help of our trusty teams of volunteers, but we are always on the look out for more helpers. If you can spare a few hours a day and would like to help with any of the jobs which take place every day in our shops, telephone 01709 308917 or email fundraising@rotherhamhospice.org.uk.

Donating goods

Donate, Don’t Dump

We rely on the generosity of the people of Rotherham to help keep our shops well stocked. If you have any clean undamaged goods that you wish to donate, please take them to one of the shops given below where they will be gratefully received. Remember, we can gain income from recycling worn out clothes, but it helps us if you can separate rags and identify from items that are fit for sale.

Please note that for safety reasons, there some items we cannot take, such as:

• Crash helmets, skate boards, roller blades
• Large and small electrical kitchen equipment
• Microwaves

Our charity shops will thrive, if we can sell items with a second life. So, please check your donations are both clean and functional e.g. for tears or broken zips on clothes – missing chapters in books! Remember to shop when you drop.
